Mary the VO Artist.JPG

ABOUT

Mary is a trained actor, singer, writer, and cat mom. She's named after both of her grandmothers, Mary & Helen. She could easily join a convent based on her name alone. There is not a single "Mary" reference she hasn't heard.

After growing up in rural Pennsylvania where her name allowed her to fit right in with the Amish, she moved to Chicago. But not before spending several years in the Pittsburgh & Southeast markets.

In 2021 Mary trained with The ACADEMY at Black Box Acting, a Meisner and Viewpoints based conservatory program. She carries these techniques into her auditions and ongoing classes.

Mary also works as a voiceover talent and has a particular affinity for narrating audiobooks.

Her home VO studio currently runs in her sound treated closet and on:

Sennheiser MKH 416 & sE Electronics X1 S [Microphones]

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 [Interface]

AKG K275 & Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro [Headphones]

Reaper [DAW]

There's Something
About Mary

Performance Reviews

"Mary Pochatko in fine, plucky form...plays Kate as a more physical rather than psychological adversary, matches wits with Meeks"

- Sandy Staggs, Carolina Curtain Call

"Mary Pochatko displays great range from the likeable friend Bingley to the thoughtful Aunt Gardiner to the silly Lydia Bennet."

- Yvonne Hudson, Pittsburgh in the Round

"Pochatko, Callahan's client and the exercise diva on trial for the murder of her husband, settles into her character after her number 'Whipped Into Shape.' The Mon River Art debut of this soprano is memorable, largely in part of her shockingly powerful voice."

- Dylan Shaffer, BWW Pittsburgh
